Valletta Grand Harbour is one of the most beautiful natural deep water harbours in the Mediterranean.
The Port hosts a whole range of Maritime facilities which include:
» Cruise Terminal
Malta does not need to flaunt its many charms. For those who are willing to take a closer look, the Island offers the cruise visitor a remarkable abundance of dramatic scenery and fantastic archaeological and architectural monuments.
Pinto Wharf, which is within walking distance of the Capital City Valletta, is the area in he Grand Harbour designated exclusively to cruise liners. This berth is over 700 metres in length with a draft ranging from 9 to 12 metres. Other berthing facilities are also available at anchorage areas both inside and outside Maltese Ports.
» Drydocks
Malta Shipyards is one of Europe's major ship repair centres with 5 docks capable of accommodating vessels up to 300,000dwt. Tank cleaning services are also available
» Grain Terminal
Kordin Grain Terminal handles storage and transhipment of all types of free flowing grains such as wheat, maize, soyabeans and barley. The main features of the terminal include:
• Discharging berth of 252m in length and a max. draft of 15m.
• Loading berth of 190m in length and a max. draft of 10.6m. 86000 tons capacity.
• Weighing, bagging, recycling, aspiration and fumigation.
Motor Vehicle Transhipment Centre
This terminal features:
• 440m of berthing with a maximum draft of 12m.
• A fully paved security area of 10400 square metres
• Close circuit television
• Other General Cargo & RoRo berths
